Arguably the two best shortstops in the NL, and possibly MLB, will not be going head to head when the Mets face the Playoff-Killing Marlins this weekend. Hanley Ramirez was out last night due to an apparent groin injury. His status for this Friday is uncertain.
It would be a big break for the injury-depleted Mets for the Marlins All-Star to have to sit out, while the Mets will be without at least 5 members of the opening day roster: Reyes, Cora, Delgado, Church and Schneider.
Jerry Manuel said last night he expects Beltran to play Friday, but it likely will be a game-time decision.

I wouldn’t hold our breaths on Beltran.
A Carvel scoop in a mini-Mets Helmet says he’s in.
you sir, just lost yourself an ice cream hat. Something will come up with Carlos for sure.
Pagan has done a good job filling in for Beltran so if he can’t play it’s not that big of a deal.
he played friday, so i won the ice cream
