Gary Sheffield gets his first start for the Mets tonight and all I am reading is about his defense. I can’t remember another potential offensive milestone night that focused so much on one’s defense. Yes, Gary hasn’t play outfield for a “while”, but he still is an outfielder. It’s not the Hundley experiment for Cripes sake. Moreover, it is not as if we are replacing Beltran’s gold glove in center. In fact, you could argue that our last two games were lost as a result from corner outfield errors.

I’m predicting two HRs (and no errors) from the Sheff tonight – How’s that for pressure.

Let’s Go Mets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
