Per Newsday’s David Lennon, Carlos Delgado will not be placed on the Disable List today, and a decision could last as long as the full weekend.
“General manager Omar Minaya will discuss a few issues this afternoon. At the top of that agenda is the health of Carlos Delgado’s right hip, but it appears the team will not make a decision about the disabled list until this weekend, and maybe even as late as Sunday.”
A Mets fan can look at this in one of two ways. You can be disappointed because it will leave the Mets short on the bench through the Weekend series against the Giants. On the other hand, the fact that a decision has not been made probably indicates the hip is not as severe as the media is making it out to be, and any DL stint will be short.
