Breaking: Putz out 2 Days, Delgado has “Slight Tear”

Shoulda kept my mouth shut about the 9th-inning thing.Per Daily News Adam Rubin

“J.J. Putz had an MRI on Wednesday that revealed inflammation in the back of the elbow. That has caused a bone spur. Putz took a shot, which will cause him to sit for two days at least. Putz has joined the team in San Francisco after being seen by team doctor David Altchek.

“He’s had this spur before, and guys sometimes play with it,” GM Omar Minaya said.

Minaya said Carlos Delgado has an impingement of the hip, which creates a sligt tear. Has also has a bone spur in the hip. Minaya said he will wait through the weekend and see how a new therapy works before making a DL decision.”

  1. why wait, put him on the DL and let’s get another guy up? Why no Willy Mo talk? That would be a great bat off the bench, and or in the outfield.

  2. Well for one, wily mo has been banged up at AAA the last few days, i think he’s also in the “can play but may need to be dl’d eventually” limbo.

and my guess is that if delgado is good to go by sunday-monday that would only be about 8 days of him out of action, and better to have delgado for the additional 6 games, than not.
